Having completed some basic investigations, patients are seen during follow-up consultation to discuss the results, possible factors contributing to their infertility and a diagnosis together with appropriate treatment options are discussed. In up to 97% of all cases a diagnosis of infertility can be made with treatment options available in all cases to suit the specific needs of a couple. With advancing technology more and more patients can nowadays benefit from treatment with very good outcomes and success.
It is recommended that those patients who had already completed two or more unsuccessful treatments should also arrange for a follow-up appointment, as this would allow for an in-depth discussion of their failure to conceive and to consider alternative treatment options.
